An individuals conflict with social club is the central story in Henrik Ibsens A Dolls theatre. The protagonist of the play, Nora, develops a conflict within herself. Ibsen displays the tension mingled with Noras reluctance to conform to societys expectations for women and her internal mocking of whether or not she wants her own identity, without societys expectations influencing her identity.
